Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is coaching?

Coaching is a collaborative, goal-oriented process that helps you gain clarity, build skills, and create sustainable change. A coach supports you in identifying your goals or intentions and taking meaningful action toward them.

2. How is coaching different from therapy?

Therapy focuses on healing the past and managing mental health. Coaching focuses on your present and future—goals, performance, mindset, and growth.

3. What is financial wellbeing coaching?

Great question. Here’s the truth: you can stop the financial overwhelm by being in a safe space, with someone impartial to listen to you talk, without judgement. This can be a shortcut to clear decision-making and a clear set of next steps to move forward.

Financial wellbeing is about feeling calm, confident and in control of your money. It’s where you can meet your everyday expenses and have savings set aside to cope with financial shocks. More importantly, it’s about having the freedom to make choices over how to make your life  better. So financial wellbeing is not necessarily about having vast amounts in savings but is instead a positive mindset with money. Having a positive relationship with money is important for our overall wellbeing as financial anxiety. This is because financial stresses have a negative impact on our mental and physical health. Financial wellbeing is important as it can increase our overall level of wellbeing, our relationship with ourselves and others.

4. Who is coaching for?

Coaching is for anyone who wants to grow, improve, or reach a particular goal, or for anyone seeking clarity or confidence.

5. What happens during a coaching session?

Sessions typically involve conversation, reflection, goal-setting, actions, and accountability. You’ll talk about what you want, what’s getting in the way, and what actions you’ll take next.

6. How long does coaching take?

There are two coaching packages, a one off clarity session or coaching 6 sessions over a maximum of six-months.

7. How often do sessions occur?

Most coaching is fortnightly or monthly to keep motivation and momentum, but frequency can be customised based on your goals and schedule.

8. What’s the coach’s role vs. my role?

A coach provides guidance, support, perspective, tools, and accountability. Your role is to be open, engaged, and willing to take action between sessions.

9. Will coaching give me financial advice?

No, I am not a financial advisor. Coaches may offer insights or tools, but the focus is empowering you to find solutions, make decisions, and build confidence.

10. Is coaching confidential?

Yes. Sessions are private and confidential, except in rare situations required by law.

11. How do I know if coaching is right for me?

Coaching is a great fit if you’re motivated to grow, open to new perspectives, and ready to take action. A consultation call often helps you decide.

12. Do you offer virtual or in-person sessions?

Virtual sessions provide flexibility and ease of access.

13. What if I’m not satisfied with coaching?

At the discovery call we will discuss expectations and offer a clear coaching agreement before you sign up. Feedback is welcomed so that you can get the most from the coaching process.
