What’s the difference between financial coaching versus financial advice and therapy?
This is a question, I'm asked regularly. So I thought I'd share more here in case you are also wondering whether coaching is right for you.
Coaching is a collaborative, goal-oriented process that helps you gain clarity, build skills, and create sustainable change. A coach supports you in identifying your goals or intentions and taking meaningful action toward them.

Therapy helps to heal the past and manage mental health. Coaching focuses on your present and future—goals or intentions, performance, mindset, and growth.
The key difference between financial coaching versus financial advice and therapy is that coaching designed to empower you to:
find solutions,
make decisions, and
build confidence.
As a coach, I do not offer financial advice. Coaching is for anyone who wants to grow, improve, or reach a particular goal, or for anyone seeking clarity or confidence. I provide provides guidance, support, perspective, tools, and accountability. Your role is to be open, engaged, and willing to take action between sessions.
Financial coaching can work well prior to or alongside financial advice so that the decisions you make feel right for you.
Financial wellbeing is about feeling calm, confident and in control of your money. Having a positive relationship with money is important for our overall wellbeing. This is because financial stresses have a negative impact on our mental and physical health. Financial wellbeing is important as it can increase our overall level of wellbeing. In coaching, I've found that it's often about more than just money!
